~ 2000 to 2004 ~

July 7 - November 8, 2000 - To find out if we liked traveling, we used a four month sabbatical from our jobs. Places visited: China, Greece, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Western Europe, Turkey and Egypt.

May 16 - December 31, 2001 - We sold everything, quit our jobs, and set off for an unknown amount of time. Places visited: Nepal, Pakistan, China, Mongolia, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Senegal, Mali, Cote d' Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon.

January 1 - December 31, 2002 - As we gained experience, we headed into more far flung adventures. Places visited: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Yemen, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus, Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Sovenia, Yugoslavia, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia.

January 1 - December 31, 2003 - Because we were traveling on-the-cheap, our budget lasted another year. Places visited: Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, South Africa, Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Myanmar.

January 1 - May 7, 2004 - Jill became pregnant so we traveled another 5 months and ended our trip with a big surprise for our parents. Places visited: Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia.
