Another day in Borneo's jungle. The rhythm here is rhinoceros bird wake up call at daybreak, morning trek while the sun lies too low to be hot, midday siesta, mid-afternoon thunder showers, then evening and night time treks to watch the animals come out and play and eat under cooling skies. |
Rhinoceros hornbill, king of the Borneo birds. He
wears his one horned crown over his beak, a great way to attract a mate.
|
Boat safaris create the best animal viewing opportunities.
Everything needs to come down by the river for a drink and crocodiles
keep that experience from being routine. When the boat glides under
a tree don't look up - overhead monkeys like to pee and defecate on
those below.
|
Kingfishers are the jungle's most colorful residents. |
