Orang-utans, meaning "forest man," are the original Borneo inhabitants. Close to extinction, these long haired, red apes only exist in the wild on two islands, Malaysian Borneo and Indonesian Sumatra. By hitching a ride to the forest an hour outside of Kuching, we find some wild orangs.
Gotta light?
Bananas, Bananas, when am I going to get a steak?
These orangs are semi-tame; park wardens supplement their diet with baskets of bananas served on a ramp within the park.
