In Vang Vieng everyone's goal is to relax. A major activity involves floating down the Mekong on an inflatable tire, BeerLao in hand. Another activity with equal popularity involves napping along the river, book in lap. With such a day we can ponder questions such as: "Why is it spelled Laos when everyone says Lao?" Or "Why is the official name the Lao People's Democratic Republic, LPDR, when there's nothing democratic about a communist government?" These aren't interesting questions, so pass another BeerLao and float down the river... |

the sun faded and the beer colored water became a sick green, I felt faded, my
beer looked green, and I became sick. |
