Next Day
If we stay any longer, we'll forget our names, so this is the last day for us in paradise. Trawangan supplies enough comfort so we're not roughing it, enough isolation so we feel marooned without danger of catching island fever, at a price that doesn't stress our wallet. Time is the only thing we can't save; Robinson Crusoe didn't have to worry about visa expiration.
We'll be heading back to mainland Indonesia, where a political election is underway. Indonesian politics on this island - Give me liberty or Give me...a pina colada.
What's it like growing up on a tiny island? Kids run around naked towing their version of cabbage patch dolls, which are miniature fishing boat imitations.
