|After an overnight voyage to the northern islands, we landed on Genovesa. Each island has its own personality and unique wildlife population. Genovesa is renowned for red footed boobies and frigate birds. We shared the beach with sea lions, snorkelled with white tipped reef sharks, and then looked at some funny birds.|
The male frigatebird attracts a mate by displaying a red throat sac - sexy!
Red footed boobies, the most colorful, best seen on Genovesa island. Unique among boobies, they nest in trees and are the only birds with prehensile, webbed feet.
Land iguanas think they're so cool.
Sea lions can be territorial about their beach space. This guy chased us into the water if we sat in his favorite tanning spot.
