Since the borderpost it's easy to see
that Costa Rica is much greener and lush than its northern neighbors. We see why
this is considered to be one of the best places to experience the tropics naturally.
But we're finished for now with trudging through the jungle in search of an ultimate
eco-tourist experience. We won't hike today, however, we're willing to ride a
horse or cling to a cable... |

Riding
horses around Volcan Arenal - when that volcano speaks it sounds like rock grating
thunder. |
|
In the rainforest the leaves hover a hundred
feet from the ground. Adventure tours offer a zippy way to see the tops of these
trees, by riding cables attached to platforms at nose bleed heights. We wear helmets
to feel safe, but hard plastic won't help if we fall. |

Nature's jacuzzi at Tabacon. Hot river water
flows from the volcano and soothes aching muscles. |
