|Kruger offers all of the 'Big Five:' elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. It's been surprisingly good for rhino - we've seen plenty.|
Hyenas in training.
This turkey-sized bird, called a Ground Hornbill, ranks as a powerful predator. Using it's bill as a shovel or weapon, it can dig up or dispatch various prey. It eats insects, reptiles, frogs, and it will also kill game birds, snakes, and tortoises. The large red neck pouch inflates to provide a surface area for losing excess heat. Ground Hornbills spend most of their time waddling along the ground looking for their next meal.
