|In Burma boats beat buses for being at ease. From Mandalay we float down the Ayeyarwady River. We spend the day drifting across the Burmese map, between Mandalay and Bagan, the country's two most important historical cities.|
Our boat trip starts before dawn and the sunrise catches fire atop golden stupas.
Every river bend reveals a different temple. Burma has enough temples to convert the country's goats, cows, and ducks to Buddhism.
