| We returned to Colombo and completed our Sri Lankan circuit. Sri Lanka feels more developed than India - it's easier to find consumer and entertainment goods - yet Colombo seems like it could be a backwater suburb of big cities on the sub-continent. We shopped at a few malls, enjoyed a Western style meal at the World Trade Center deli (the best deal in Sri Lanka), and felt the irony of Buddhist pagodas being patrolled by heavily armed soldiers. | |||

My
father sent us correspondence to his friend, Justice Sharvananthan, who served
as the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka's Supreme Court. Wow! We received a copy of
the Justice's book about Sri Lankan law so no more excuses about law-breaking
here. | |||
