Next Day
Rising early, walking through the village as the people slept, digging for worms behind their huts, catching small fish with worms on a stick fishing pole, then switching to a handline and using the small fish as bait, we fished like local Ugandan villagers. The whole process provided fun but no fish. Nile perch proved to be too tricky for us. The local fisherman, Alex, said we had no luck. So in the afternoon we painted furniture for an orphanage.
My best fish result. It's edible. My guide takes it for a snack.
We spent a day of voluntary work with a community project - sawing, sanding, and painting.
We danced with the kids after finishing the work.
