Next Day
At first light we pried ourselves from bed and joined a tour to the narrow gorges that cut through Sinai’s desert. From a full day there our desert dash continued at night: we joined another group (mostly German) and drove to the base of Mt. Sinai. After a 2 hour climb we reached the top and spent the night in a windy crag between a monastery’s roof and a mountain boulder.
Sinai’s other worldly landscape of twisting canyons, no wonder Moses got lost.
Color canyon: do those people look ready to catch me?
Bedouin taxi's will carry you to the top if you don't feel like walking. On this moonlit night we need no help from camels.
Cold but not lonely at the top.
