We camped overnight on Benguera island. This place has fine, white sand beaches, warm tropical breezes. We feel as though we're on vacation. We snorkeled along a two mile reef in clear waters, watching colorful fish swim around a coral backdrop. The only indication that we were in Africa, not Hawaii, came with our evening walk. We stumbled upon several villages of thatched reed huts. Small cooking fires, a few women, many small children preparing the evening meal by pounding dry corn kernels into flour with mortar and pestle.
Hey Jill-o, any luck-o speaking Portugese-o to the locals-o?
Snorkel, mask, and fins didn't make me any more attractive to fish - they kept their distance.
Bring a soccer ball to the beach - you'll start a party
