Since we've seen big and small Austrian towns, we decided to visit a medium sized one: Salzburg. This proved to be a good choice. With its active atmosphere, many museums, and large castle looming on the skyline, Salzburg offers the cosmopolitan feel of Vienna. Salzburg also manages to retain a "small town" quality that Vienna lacks. No wonder Mozart loved this city as his home. After exploring the city, we ended the day with dinner and beers at a youth hostel, mingling amongst a younger crowd and feeling like we were in college again. |
