|Last night we rode a bus back to Istanbul. Our last day in Turkey has proved to be a day too long; the entire country has shut down while the government takes the national census. It rained as well. We made the best of this day by visiting Topkapi, the palace of Ottoman Sultans. We saw relics of the Prophet Mohammed and the bones of John the Baptist, an appropriate way to end a trip to a country with deep roots in both the Christian and Islamic faiths. Looking back on Turkey, we'll remember most our great impression of Turkish hospitality. Time and again, Turks went out of their way to help us when we were obviously lost tourists.
