| The first setback: we both have caught a cold. It wasn't too bad, but
we slept in this morning until 8:00. Then we followed our trusty guide
to the Forbidden City. This place served as the Emperor's palace. One
Emperor had over 3,000 concubines (that's why this palace is so big).
Busy guy. The weather was scorching -- 38 Celsius, so Jill buys a hat
for $1; she sure blended into the crowd. Random people kept asking to
get their pictures taken with her. No one asked me though -- it must have
been the hat. |
