Our Thoughts

Not a place you hear about much. Cameroon has the best African wildlife West Africa has to offer as well as the highest peak in West Africa.

Itinerary
Trip 2001-2002
December 24-26 Cameroon: Explore Waza National Park, home of the maneless male lion and West Africa's best wildlife reserve.
December 27-28 The Islamic Fulani and non-Muslim Kirdi people live in villages of stone-and-thatch huts, which are camouflaged against a backdrop of pinnacles and volcano craters. We will trek through these tribal areas of the Roumsiki Mountains.
December 29-31 We leave the northern savannah lands and head south into steaming jungles. Cameroon has amazing tropical rainforest (used in the set for Greystoke, The Tarzan movie). Our progress here will be slow: mud holes, obstacles, and poor dirt roads enliven our trip through the jungle.
January 1-3 After the jungle we relax for a short time on the Atlantic coast before climbing to the top of Mt Cameroon. The climb to the summit should take two days. Then we drive to Douala for a much needed rest.
